DUKE
Uncle Duke is the first psychopath who ever made me laugh.

AUSTIN AT TRUMPFACTS®
I see I'm not the only one noticing that even the indomitable Austin at TRUMPFacts® is starting to get fed up. GBT did a great job at conveying that, in order to protect Austin, the conversations should be recorded "for quality assurance purposes."

SUNDAY'S STRIP
Re Sunday's strip. Either GBT is clairvoyant, or he's waiting until the very last minute to turn in his homework. I prefer to believe the latter. The hated Yankees did beat the Sox on Saturday night ...and there was some sort of protest on the Common.

TODAY'S STRIP
Austin over at TrumpFacts is looking a lot less cheerful than usual in today's strip.

HOW?

HOOLIGAN
So now, in the aftermath of the Tiananmen Square Massacre, Honey is a "hooligan." I'd say this is a case of "the pot calling the kettle black" (as if Honey ordered the tanks and the shootings).

CHECKING IN
Re: "Checking in?" Yes, sir, and don't you want to schedule a conference room for your people's meeting to collude with the President's family and staff?
-
REFERENCE
I confess, the Exxon Valdez reference went over my head too. But Exxon Valdez, Torrey Canyon, and Amoco Cadiz are my go-to pub quiz answers.
-
OVER MY HEAD
Monday's strip went over my head. Today I recognized the reference to the Exxon Valdez and Captain Hazelwood. You have to be a certain age to remember that.

SAD
The scariest aspect of the Retro Rerun daily cartoons that have been running the last few years is how relevant they are to yesterday, today and tomorrow. Apart from the occasional name, the SNAFUs and quotidian idiocies are the same. SAD...for the the future, if any.

PREDICTED
Nailed it! Bill Kristol predicted Elmo and Alice's "pre-existing addiction" (and that of the rest of the 22 million people Mark refers to) way back in 1993 when it was about Hillarycare. That makes two things that I know of where Kristol has been right, even if for the wrong reasons. The other is Never-Trumpism.

BLOOD PRESSURE
After Election Night and the Inauguration, I told myself I would sit back and be entertained by the Trump presidency, without raising my blood pressure since he was duly elected. The perspective of GBT's Sunday strips, well-timed Classics, "Say What?" quotes, and Roland's tweets have helped. However, after only six months -- I'm not sure the country or I can survive four years of it.

HIGHLIGHTING
The Classic re-runs are fun, but your unique talent is highlighting the "clear and present" political danger while making now funny. I'm always relieved to see you on the front line again.

SQUEEE!!
Squeee!! Thanks for the morning kicker of Ray Benson and Asleep At The Wheel!
-
SCARAMUCCI
Re the speaker featured in today's SayWhat? quote, here's Wikipedia: "Scaramuccia, also known as Scaramouche or Scaramouch, is a stock clown character of the Italian commedia dell'arte."
-
TIME COVER
In today's strip, the Time cover on Trump's desk is a nice touch. What was he saying about "fake news"? Go, Doonesbury!
-
ROLAND
Thank you, Roland Burton Hedley, III, the voice of up-to-the-minute sane perspective in an otherwise volatile political climate.
-
THANK YOU
Thank you.

GONE
I'm loving the delicious irony of today's strip. Although it's technically out of date, with Prince Reibus having been shown the door by Trump, Sid's words are prophetic. Now Reince learns first hand how fleeting is a job in Trump World. "Those parts are gone!"

EVOLVING
It seems to me that your Trump is slowly evolving into Humpty Dumpty, or some kind of MODOK-like creature who's just a giant head and tiny arms. Either way, I can't wait for his great fall...
