Ever since the election I've kind of been hoping you'd rerun that one!

Yes! Today's special Sunday/daily Flashback is exactly what I was hoping for! I bet that 1974 strip has been in the thoughts of many long-time Doonesbury fans these past few tumultuous months. And wow, today I spotted a detail I must have missed over the decades: how the flowers in front of the wall grow in each panel, finally appearing in full bloom at the end!

I will be sorry to see Roland give up his Twitter feed. But I hope this represents a trend in the media; giving little press to the departing Mad King. 

More seriously, the WH chief usher and staff should keep good track of all the valuables and silverware. You can't trust the family and hangers-on of this tawdry occupant with a one-term-only lease.

If only he had limited his destructiveness to wantonly smashing furnishings. (Sigh)

In light of reporting today that Deutsche Bank is cutting ties with Trump, I immediately thought of Duke's advice to his son Earl: "Always bet on the cornered rat." Any chance you could post a link to that strip again?

Judging from the Confederate battle flag being hoisted inside the U.S. Capitol, it wasn't Sam Adams and Tom Paine the insurrectionists were emulating.

I'm glad to see that GBT has been consistent with the new "colorization" of the president's hands -- it's more appropriate now than ever before. And while Trump won't be able to tweet anymore, I'm sure he can occupy his time with his "legal team." 

I would think that the President of the United States organizing an attempted coup d'êtat against the government on a Wednesday, right in the middle of the week, might tempt GBT to return to doing daily cartoons...

Funny how today's five-years-ago Flashback strip features Ted Cruz being the usual Ted Cruz, just as he is today. (Also shout out to Zonker, 15 years ago today,  considering Trump University.)

In today's Red Rascal strip, in panel five, his handler left out "choose to."...More to the point, I'm having trouble remembering which side Jeff is on, or maybe Jeff himself is having trouble remembering.

Re the 50-years-ago-today Flashback strip: Where did B.D. get a flat screen TV that worked with a rabbit ear antenna? I know Best Buy wasn't around, or cable for that matter. Probably the same place that Dick Tracy got his watch? 

Wow. What to say about today's strip? That Mr. Covid is now another iconic avatar in the GBT Universe? The fact that with 300,000 dead there are people who are still in denial? Or that I find myself thinking more and more like Mike in the last panel? 

Mike lives in Bellefonte? Who knew?

Today’s strip is funny and sad at the same time. That last panel is spot on! It’s so tragic that people do actually say and believe all of those statements. I live in an area of the country that was devastated early on, and continues to be so because of people like these. My governor is correct in calling them “knuckleheads."
